Entrepreneurship NOW! Negotiation Toolkit & Best Practices

On March 27th, 2026, CCI FRANCE CHINE convened its Entrepreneurship Committee for a high-impact session titled "Negotiation Toolkit & Best Practices." Hosted in CCI FRANCE CHINE Guangzhou office, the event gathered entrepreneurs and business leaders eager to sharpen their deal-making skills in an increasingly complex market.

The session was expertly moderated by Mélanie Besancenot (Mechanical Engineering Limited), who set the tone by highlighting a universal truth: negotiation is an inescapable pillar of business—and life—whether dealing with clients, suppliers, or personal partners.

The discussions focused on:

  • The Fundamentals of Performance:Timothy Wong from Scotwork provided the foundational framework for the session. He introduced essential negotiation concepts and practical tools designed to optimize performance. Timothy shared strategic "tricks" and proven techniques to help participants secure their objectives while fostering sustainable, win-win partnerships.
  • Adapting to the Local Environment: A key highlight was the deep dive into cultural intelligence. The speakers provided critical insights on navigating local business environments, emphasizing how understanding cultural nuances is the "make or break" factor in successful cross-border negotiations.
  • Industry Perspectives & Real-World Application: In a collaborative roundtable, Matthieu Algard (Créa-D Bag Manufacturing) and Thomas Villeneuve (SNF China) joined Mélanie Besancenot to share first-hand experiences from their respective industries. By discussing the specific challenges of manufacturing and industrial sectors, they provided a bridge between negotiation theory and daily operational reality.

Through this collective exchange, the committee underscored that structured negotiation is not just about winning a single deal, but about building the strategic capabilities necessary for long-term entrepreneurial success.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our speakers—Timothy Wong, Matthieu Algard, Thomas Villeneuve, and our moderator Mélanie Besancenot—for their invaluable insights and practical contributions. Finally, we thank all our members for their active participation and for making this session a hallmark of collaborative learning.
