[ROUND TABLE] Meeting with Vice Mayor of Shanghai and French companies
On November 17th, 2021, a special round table was held between the Municipality of Shanghai and a delegation of French companies. The meeting was led by Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Zong Ming with the participation of the heads of relevant departments of the city.
The round table was organized by the Shanghai municipal Commission of Commerce, Invest Shanghai, CCI FRANCE CHINE, Economic department of the French General Consulate in Shanghai and French Foreign Trade Advisory Council, represented by Vice-President of CCI FRANCE CHINE, Olivier DUBROEUCQ, General Manager of CCI FRANCE CHINE, Caroline Penard, Economic Counsellor of the French General Consulate in Shanghai, Pierre Moussy, Vice President of the French Foreign Trade Advisory Council, Bertrand Regnier.
In his opening address, Vice-President, Olivier DUBROEUCQ shared the situation of French companies in Shanghai, a delegation of 8 French companies, Puy du Fou, Suez, Bureau Veritas, Terao, Decathlon, CMA-CGM, AXA and Air Liquide had also the opportunity to raise their concern and suggestions, involving the entry of personnel, social security for foreign employees, company relocation, headquarters recognition, green building, sports development, insurance, healthcare, energy, shipping, etc.
During this meeting, Vice Mayor Zong Ming said that France is ranked in the top 10 countries of in term of investment in Shanghai, France has more than 1,000 companies in Shanghai, with already 36 regional headquarters and 13 R&D centers. She hopes also that French companies will continue to contribute to the creation of a better and more favorable business environment in Shanghai, and that the Shanghai Municipal Government will continue to provide good support and strengthen communication with companies to create a market-oriented, internationalized and rule-of-law business environment.
