INTRODUCTION
Drawing from their survey of China-based executives of multinational companies (MNCs) operating in China, KPMG China has released its inaugural MNC China Outlook Report. In the backdrop of increased competition, deepening localisation, and the advancements of digitalization and AI, the report not only reveals MNCs’ current and medium-term economic growth outlooks, but also the strategic shifts and operational changes that they are undertaking to adapt to a changing market.
Some key findings:
• MNCs are cautious in the short-term, but committed for the long-term.
• MNCs show a more optimistic outlook for the Chinese economy than for the global economy.
• A majority of the MNCs maintained or increased their investment in the Chinese Mainland in 2025, and nearly all of them continue to invest.
Join us on January 13th as Mark Harrison, Partner and Co-head of Multinational Clients at KPMG China, provides deeper insights into the report’s findings.
