This course is designed for anyone in charge of a project who would like to have the main soft skills techniques.

Course Objectives
 

The objectives of this course are to gain awareness of the importance of interpersonal skills when conducting a project, to know how to motivate and involve an internal or external participant of the project without using any hierarchic power, and to know how to take the lead when conducting a project.

This course is designed for anyone in charge of a project who would like to have the main soft skills techniques.

Course Outline
 

Topic 1: Managing a project

  • Defining a matrix “project”

  • Understanding the four managing styles of a project: definition, advantages and limitations

Topic 2: How to create, analyze and refresh PivotTable

  • Setting an objective: co-defining the objective, involving the project-key player with the plan of action

  • Delegating a mission: What can be delegated? How?

  • Conducting a regular follow-up meeting: highlighting good performance, helping colleagues improve

Topic 3: Developing one’s assertiveness in tense situation

  • Identifying the preferred attitudes in tense situations

  • Transmitting a difficult message: the direct approach

  • Favoring change: constructive re-focusing level 1

  • Re-focusing level 2: raising awareness decisively

Topic 4: The Project team

  • Understanding the 3 stages of development of a project team: birth, constitution, moving towards a vision

  • Developing the coherence and cohesion of a project team

  • Motivating a team when motivation is low: Methods of collective reflection to redefine the desired status (objectives and how to get there)

Topic 5: Conducting meetings in the project team

  • Four conditions for success: Opening (road map), gaining interest (the matrix in 4 dimensions), encouraging participation (the iceberg laws), Getting decisions (the offensive action plan)

  • Helping the project team make a decision

  • Running motivating follow-up committees: highlighting performances, defining areas of progress
