Experience Sharing from Xiaomi Group

The Chinese IT Giant Xiaomi was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneur Lei Jun, who believes that high-quality technology doesn't need to cost a fortune. Xiaomi has created remarkable hardware, software, and internet services for and with the help of Mi fans.

Xiaomi incorporates their feedback into the product range, which currently includes the Mi Note Pro, Mi Note, Mi 4, Redmi 2, Mi TV, Mi Band and other accessories. In 2014, Xiaomi has sold more than 61 million handsets and in 2017, its turnover passed 100 billion CNY. Now Xiaomi has become a global brand with business in more than 80 countries and regions.

Innovation is a key asset for the success of Xiaomi. How Xiaomi organizes and develops its innovation? How it manages its intellectual property? How it uses its intellectual property? How it deals with intellectual property and business relationship with different partners in the world? Mr. Zhen LIU, Senior Legal Director of Xiaomi corporate, will share experience with our audience in CCI FRANCE CHINE Beijing Office.

Zhen LIU heads the global litigation team of Xiaomi. As a senior member of Xiaomi, he manages IP and other commercial litigation in a wide range of jurisdictions across Asia, Europe and North America. Meanwhile, as the head of the legal teams supporting the licensing, investment and financing divisions, he has handled a wide variety of domestic and international IP law and transactional matters across all business divisions of the company, providing advice and managing resolution.

After Mr. Liu earned a BS in computer science and worked as a Programmer for years, he received his law degree from Renmin University of China. Prior to joining Xiaomi in 2013, Mr Liu was an Attorney at law and a Patent Attorney in Chinese top law firms with an emphasis on litigation, where he gained extensive experience of IP and commercial litigation.
