Course Content & Objective

This  5-hour online live course covers the fundamental skills and introduces professional emailing rules. Participants are provided samples to also review and the trainer shows good and poor examples of emails. There is interaction during the training with group work, individual feedback available after each session. Participants will be required to complete a pre-training assignment and complete before the first class to use during reflective exercises.

Session 1: Getting Started-Setting the Rules (2 hours)

• Email rules and tips
• Purpose
• Feedback VS Reply
• Etiquette
• Homework exercise

Session 2: Following a Structure (1.5 hours)

• Requesting information
• Positive language
• Email tone
• Return on Investment (ROI) Structure
• Tailoring engagement and email tone
• Motivate with reasons
• Homework exercise

Session 3: Writing a difficult email (1.5 hours)

• Choosing the right tone
• Structure to prepare a longer email
• Problem-Cause structure in email
• Defining solutions
• Sample email discussion
• Post course exercises: submit and receive answers
