Connexions NO.76 :
Talent management, the new Chinese dimension.
With 5% unemployment rate, China seems full of job opportunities. Nevertheless, the Chinese labor market - reputedly very dynamic - implies specific human resources policies, more focused on attracting and keeping talents. And if employers are not familiar with these characteristics, “they might encounter the risk of failure in the Chinese market,” says Feng Lijun, a Beijing sociologist.
A study done earlier this decade by the French Embassy in China points out several factors revealing the rising importance of talent management. To be more specific: first, “the shortage of talents […]; the necessity for controlling the production cost in a competitive environment; finally, the “legalization” of relations at work which increases the risks for the employers”.
In the human resource field, how do French companies deal with Talent management in China? Have they set up some specific Human resources policies?
