Excel for finance: From layout to advanced formulas

This training is aimed to insist on Excel 2007 logic for finance. In addition to the introduction of classical functions in Excel 2007, we will browse on the logic for constructing files, for using formulas, for checking data.
The training is divided in two independent and complementary modules and will be based on a practical approach and exercises. A detailed training support will be given for each module in order to easily find out all the steps introduced during the exploration.

In finance department, anyone has to use Excel more or less intensively. Such a training will improve the efficiency of each finance department employee and so the global efficiency of the finance department.

Working for a western manager

Tuesday and Wednesday March 9 & 10th

A down-to-earth training session with numerous role plays to gain as much insight as possible into the various tasks of an Executive Assistant in western companies. This training will help to better understand the mentality and work habits of a Western manager and anticipate his needs by taking initiatives.

The training will be adapted to the needs of both Western manager and Executive Assistant by :
- a questionnaire destinated to the assistant and the manager sent before the training in order to work on the weak points
- an interview by phone with the manager before the training
- an individual follow-up by phone a month after the training to evaluate the outcomes

At the end of the training, the participants will get a Diploma certified by French Chamber of Commerce in China, delivered by M. Herve Lambelin, Director of French Chamber of Commerce in south China.

Pendant une centaine d'années - de la seconde moitié du XIXe siècle à 1943 - Shanghai abrite une concession française. Un territoire directement géré par la France, tandis que les britanniques règnent en maîtres sur la concession internationale. Dans les années 1920-1930, la grande métropole chinoise est surnommée le « Paris de l’Orient », en référence à celui des Années folles. C’est alors une ville de plaisirs, où tous les vices – l’opium, le jeu et la prostitution – sont permis. Ainsi que toutes les extravagances !
Ici l’argent est roi. « Si Lénine a vu Shanghai, il est excusable », écrit Albert Londres. La richesse la plus provocante y côtoie la plus extrême pauvreté. C’est aussi le paradis des aventuriers, le royaume de la pègre et du célèbre Du Yuesheng, la terre de mission des jésuites français, la ville d’accueil des juifs chassés par Hitler et des Russes qui fuient Staline.

Many companies in China are working with the wrong measures, Introducing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) can be used by organisations both to measure individual employee performance and to measure overall organisation performance. In the current market of growing competition where customers demand more innovation, short lead-times, lower cost and a perfect quality, both industrial and supply chain performances are becoming a key issue. This program is focused on lean management, one of the most important innovation in operations and supply chain management allowing companies to develop continuously their productivity, agility and creativity. Editorial - PAR LAURENT CROSET DÉLÉGUÉ GÉNÉRAL DE L’ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE EN CHINE

Le développement de l’Alliance Française en Chine a de quoi interpeller.
Sur un total d’une quinzaine d’Alliances, pas moins de dix ont été créées pendant les dix dernières années : un rythme unique au monde ! Et qui ne faiblit pas, avec une prochaine ouverture prévue à Tianjin en 2010. Sans compter les antennes créées au gré des besoins, comme dans le nouveau complexe universitaire de Shanghai à l’automne 2009. Ainsi ancrées au niveau local, les Alliances sont plongées au coeur des réalités du pays, ce qui leur permet d’adapter leur offre aux besoins croissants de la Chine d’échanger avec les pays francophones.La délégation générale, qui coordonne le réseau depuis Pékin, s’attache d’une part à développer l’identité propre de chaque Alliance, en fonction des spécificités économiques et culturelles de la ville hôte ; d’autre part, à unifier un réseau encore jeune : la première Alliance Française en Chine, située à Canton, n’a que vingt ans ! Réunis à Xi’an en novembre 2009, les directeurs des Alliances Françaises de Chine ont insisté sur l’importance de consolider leurs implantations et leur fonctionnement en réseau. Création d’une charte de qualité, formation des personnels enseignants et non enseignants, tableaux interactifs dans les classes, centres multimédias, programmation culturelle adaptée au contexte local, travail de communication pour une meilleure lisibilité du réseau, organisation des examens
de français Delf/Dalf... L’année 2010 marquera la première phase de création d’un label « Alliance Française en Chine ». Objectifs : garantir la qualité de l’enseignement du français dans le réseau chinois des Alliances et continuer d’offrir un service et un accueil de haut niveau. Cette ambition répond à un double choix stratégique : améliorer la promotion de la langue française, mais aussi des cultures francophones. Car les Alliances Françaises en Chine ne sont pas seulement des écoles de langue regroupant 25 000 étudiants autour de 275 professeurs. Elles sont aussi, a fortiori dans les villes non consulaires, de véritables établissements culturels, lieux de rencontres et d’échanges, véhiculant l’image de la France et de la Francophonie auprès des Chinois : 325 événements culturels ont été organisés en 2009, pour 40 000 spectateurs. Et, on ne le répétera jamais assez, le taux d’autofinancement des Alliances Françaises avoisine les 100 %, ce qui leur garantit un développement autonome. L’Etat reste bien sûr très engagé, notamment via la création, à un rythme soutenu, de postes de directeurs par le Ministère des Affaires étrangères. De leur côté, les collectivités territoriales françaises sont impliquées dans le développement des Alliances via des coopérations décentralisées.La revue Alliances, dont vous avez le premier numéro entre les mains, retrace l’actualité des Alliances Françaises en Chine. Au fil des pages, le lecteur constatera qu’elles savent s’adapter aux spécificités locales et que, innovantes et dynamiques, elles forment un solide réseau au service de la langue française et des cultures francophones. Un réseau qui a séduit la Chine : Pékin reconnaît s’en être largement inspiré pour implanter ses « Instituts Confucius » dans le monde. Quelle plus belle marque de reconnaissance aurait-on pu souhaiter ?

Nos paroles n’ont d’impact que si notre corps sait les exprimer or nous nous focalisons souvent sur la maitrise et la précision des premières au détriment de leur vecteur principal. Avoir conscience de la Communication non verbale et en comprendre le fonctionnement offrent un double bénéfice : renforcer l’efficacité de sa communication mais aussi mieux décrypter l’état d’esprit de son interlocuteur pour accroître sa force de conviction. 1st part - China's Climate Change Policy: Reluctant Outside, Ambitious Inside
Thibaud Voïta, Asia Centre(SciencesPo).
Based in Beijing, Thibaud works on China's energy and environment policy. He has conducted several works on China's high-tech programs (coal-to-liquids, Electric Vehicle, Smart Grid, etc.)
"So far, China has been reluctant to accept any compromise during the Copenhagen summit. This attitude is surprising: China is developing very ambitious projects to slow down its emissions and is said to become one of the leading green power in the next years: see its energy efficiency program, its investments on renewable energy (solar – wind), its grid modernization, the green cars development, R&D on CCS, etc. But Beijing does not accept any political interference and does not seem ready to accept any emission restraint from abroad. "

2nd part - French Agency of Development 's (AFD) programs China

“As a French public operator dedicated to the fight against Climate change, AFD is committed to supporting projects with significant impacts on GHG reductions and bilateral partnership in China. After a brief feedback from its involvement in Copenhaguen, AFD Beijing will summarize its mandate and projects in the framework of the national Chinese policies, such as low carbon cities, green credit lines, green building etc… and in close connexion with all relevant French operators (such as companies and NGOs in Chinese rural areas)”.

David Wei has been chief executive officer of Alibaba.com since October 2007. He first joined Alibaba Group, the holding company of Alibaba.com, in November 2006 as president of the B2B business division and as executive vice president of Alibaba Group. He was elected to the Alibaba.com board of directors concurrently with his appointment as chief executive officer.
David was president, from 2002 to 2006, and chief financial officer, from 2000 to 2002, of B&Q China, a subsidiary of Kingfisher plc, a leading home improvement retailer in Europe and Asia. Under David's leadership, B&Q China grew to become China's largest home improvement retailer. From 2003 to 2006, he was also chief representative for Kingfisher's China sourcing office, Kingfisher Asia Ltd.
David served as managing director and head of investment banking for Orient Securities Co. from 1998 to 2000, and as corporate finance manager at Coopers & Lybrand, now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers, from 1995 to 1998. David holds non-executive directorship positions in HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited and The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.
David was born in mainland China in 1970. He holds a bachelor's degree in international business management from Shanghai International Studies University and is a graduate of the corporate finance program at the London Business School.

The Sustainable Development Working Group of the French Chamber of Commerce is pleased to invite you to his meeting on the topic:

Low carbon industry:

Introduction to new national energy management standards and case studies of Chinese industries involved in a low carbon manufacturing program

Seminar presented by Mr Zhao Yuejin (Chinese National Institute for Standards) & Mr Emiel van Sembeek (Azure International)

Industry is the first source of green house gases emissions in China. It represents about 60% of the country’s total emissions. That fact alone makes it a first priority for China and other countries to achieve significant reductions. Chinese industry sector emissions are strongly linked to manufacturing processes, generally following an overcapacity target but emissions and related energy consumptions are also a matter of management and governance.

This session will give an introduction about the new Chinese standard “GB23331 Energy management system” and also a presentation of the “Low carbon manufacturing program” (LCMP) led by WWF.
GB23331 standard has been drafted to regulate energy management of organizations, reduce their energy consumption and improve energy efficiency. This management system is meant to serve as a strategic policy for top management.
LCMP aims at reducing carbon emissions generated by manufacturing facilities in the Pearl River Delta and developing environmental social governance for those manufacturers.

The GB23331 standard presentation will be given by Mr Zhao Yuejin, LCMP will be presented by Emiel van Sembeek from the company Azure International.

Senior engineer and professor from the CNIS (Chinese National Institute for Standards).
Mr. Zhao Yuejin has 20 years of experience in standardization and research fields. His main focus is energy conservation.

Emiel van Sambeek

Emiel van Sambeek has an international background in sustainable energy research, government policy development and corporate strategy consulting. He joined Azure in 2007 as the leader of the energy strategy team which focuses on China’s sustainable energy and carbon solutions. Before that, he has been senior researcher and consultant for Energy research Centre of Netherlands for over 6 years.

	Frederik CORNU After having worked in Egypt, UK, Japan, France, UAE and Iran, Frederik has been working in China since 2000 for Degremont (SUEZ Environment) and then for SOGREAH, a French engineering and consultancy group, notably on urban environmental projects financed by the World Bank. He occupied different positions such as Commissioning Manager, Project Manager, Team Leader and Deputy General Manager. In 2006, Frederik became the Business Development Director of Bureau Veritas (China), Industry and Facilities Division. Frederik obtained a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the ESTP-Cachan (France), a Master in Structural and Civil Engineering from the University of Liverpool (England) and an Executive MBA from CEIBS (China).

	Olivier DUBUIS Olivier Dubuis was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1996. He holds a LLM in International Private Law, a LLM in Business Law and a LLB in General Private Law. He is practicing in Shanghai since 1998 and is now a Partner in charge of UGGC Shanghai office. He has been an elected member of the French Chamber of Commerce & Industry in China for five years. Areas of expertise: Foreign Investments, Environment law, Distribution, Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Litigation and international arbitration.

	Stéphane GASNE Stéphane is a member of the Paris Bar, a graduate from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, and he holds postgraduate degrees in international and public law. Prior to joining the Gide Loyrette Nouel Shanghai office, he worked with the Paris office public and environmental law department. Working in China since 2004, he focused his practice on the construction, real estate and HSE issues in relation to Chinese project financing and foreign direct investment, and now follows closely the implementation of CDM projects.

Actualité juridique et fiscale des bureaux de représentation suite à la parution d'une Notice de l'Administration nationale de l'industrie et du commerce et du Ministère de la Sécurité Publique le 4 janvier 2010 visant à renforcer le contrôle des bureaux de représentation.

Ce groupe de travail aura pour objet l'information des participants sur le contenu de cette Notice, et sera l'occasion d'un débat sur son contenu et ses implications sur les bureaux de représentations existants et en cours d'établissement. L'actualité fiscale des bureaux de représentation sera également abordée.

Le groupe de travail Droit et Fiscalité commente l’actualité juridique et fiscale intéressant les entreprises françaises. Il favorise le partage d’expériences et permet de rendre compte de l’application pratique des engagements chinois aux termes du traité OMC.

La finalité du Groupe est non seulement d'informer les entreprises mais également de recueillir leurs témoignages afin de s'en faire le porte-parole auprès des pouvoirs publics français, de la représentation de l'Union Européenne en Chine et des autorités chinoises.
