China is certainly a manufacturing-based economy. In the current market of growing competition where customers demand more innovation, short lead-times, lower cost and a perfect quality, both industrial and supply chain performances are becoming a key issue. At the same time, the traditional practices in most companies are questioned more and more.

This program is focused on lean management, one of the most important innovation in operations and supply chain management allowing companies to develop continuously their productivity, agility and creativity. Lean approach applies not just internally but also at the level of the extended enterprise, the one which integrates the suppliers and customers.

The program will help managers to understand, design and implement the most appropriate operations structure as well as the most relevant methods for better performance and to develop more effective relations with suppliers and customers.

* Decoupling, synchronous manufacturing and pulled flows systems (kanban, …)
* Inventory management and work in process reduction
* Organizing and speeding-up the decision-making process
* Suppliers development

- Productivity and quality management
* Development of capacities and flexibility (TPM, SMED)
* Processes mastery and robustness (SPC and six sigma)

- Collective brainpower mobilization
* Teams with enlarged responsibility
* 5S and visual management
* Problems solving techniques

5. Deploying performance development strategies
- From strategic issues to key performance indicators
- From measurement to action plan
- Managing improvement activities

Teaching approach:

Combination of formal presentations illustrated by examples, case studies and business games such as :
* Theory of Constraints Simulator for demonstrating the importance of capacities management and for explaining how to use critical resources for synchronizing the flows.
* Just In Time Game for understanding and comparing the impact of different industrial management tactics.
* Beer game” for highlighting the key levers of Supply Chain Management.
