Hong Kong has been serving as a platform for over 40% of foreign investments in China and is also a financial hub for the whole Asia Pacific area. Foreign investments in China require careful planning in order to optimize the legal and tax structure of financing vehicles.
The presentation will focus on the various advantages of investing in China through a holding vehicle based in Hong Kong. It will also illustrate how to structure and optimize cash flows between Chinese subsidiaries and parent companies abroad, and will explore profit repatriation strategies. The common practical constraints faced by foreign investors when financing businesses in China will also be addressed.

Paul Emmanuel BENACHI, Partner in Charge of Asia since 2007. Paul Emmanuel Benachi began his legal career in 1997, working for US law firms, where he specialized in mergers & acquisitions between French and US companies. In 2004, he became the head representative of the Shanghai office of a French law firm. |

Fanny NGUYEN, Senior Legal and Tax Adviser. Fanny Nguyen has an extended experience in corporate and tax law in China. She provides advices in accounting, finance, tax and legal fields to foreign enterprises (European and American companies) established in China or those who intend to develop their activities in Asia. She also advises Chinese companies investing in Europe. She is an expert in corporate restructuring of companies with subsidiaries established in Asia. |

Hoang DANG is the General Manager of Natixis Pramex International for Greater China. He has a diversified background in both finance and consulting. He has previously developed the Securitization Group at Natexis Banques Populaires and led it to the 4th place in the French league tables. Hoang Dang has also been part of the Investment Banking Division of JPMorgan where he advised companies on M&A, IPOs and LBOs transactions. In addition, he was a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group. At Natixis Pramex International, Hoang Dang has advised European companies on their development strategies in China through Greenfield projects, Joint-Venture structuring and Mergers & Acquisitions. He has also helped clients optimize their local funding. Hoang Dang holds a Master of Engineering from the Ecole Polytechnique, a Master of Statistics and Economics from the ENSAE (Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration Economique) and an MBA from the Columbia Business School (New York). |
