Tuesday, June 16th from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the CCIFC
China’s economy cooled in 2008 amid global financial crisis. Export growth slowed, mainly as a result of sagging demand from industrialized countries. There is also less dynamism in investment and consumption.
How long will this financial crisis last? What are corporate credit risks in China amid this financial turmoil? How should enterprises deal with this credit crisis?
During his presentation, Mr. Gan will share with you on the following points:
― Overview of global financial crisis and its impact on enterprises in China
― Current status of corporate payment behavior in China amid credit crisis
― Risk analysis for specific economic sectors like chemicals, pharmaceuticals and IT, etc.
― Mitigation tools against credit crisis

Benjamin Gan, a Singaporean, is the Deputy Regional Manager for Risk department of Coface Greater China. He has been with Coface Singapore since 2001 and has been relocated to Shanghai in 2006. Over his years with Coface, Benjamin has experience in underwriting trade limits in the Asia Pacific region. He manages a profitable risk portfolio of our clients in China and he is also responsible for conducting credit research and analysis on corporates where Coface has key exposures. Before joining Coface, Benjamin was a Credit Analyst in Corporate Planning of Mitsui Asia Headquarters Pte Ltd. Reporting to the Director of Finance, he was responsible for the Risk and Cash Management of the various subsidiaries in the Asia Pacific region. Besides monitoring their business results through financial models, he also sets strategic plans to enhance their performance. Since graduating from Nanyang Technological University in 1994 with a Business Degree, Benjamin has been working in the Banking sector for 6 years. He was a Relationship Manager, Wholesale Corporate Banking in Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation Limited (OCBC) where he was responsible for accounts acquisition and portfolio management. Prior to this, he was a Senior officer, Corporate Banking in Tat Lee Bank Ltd. |
