Presentation of the results of the survey conducted by the CCIFC HR Working Group to compare and measure the HR expatriate policy within French companies settled in China.
Presentation made by the two coordinators of the HR Working Group : Martin Leys (EDF) and Li Hua (Gide).

Li Hua (Gide), holds a Master Degree in Law from the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing and an Honours Degree from the National School of Administration (ENA) in Paris. She worked at the former Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFCOM) in Beijing before becoming Vice-Director of Foreign Trade at the former State Commission for Economy and Trade. She joined GLN's Beijing Office in 1999. She is specialized in main areas of employment law, including restructuring, collective redundancy, labour agreements, social security and labour disputes. She keeps closed contact with the relevant labour authorities and multinational enterprises, and understands profoundly the foreign invested enterprises needs and offers effective and efficient solutions. In close cooperation with Chinese law firm, she has acquired valuable experience in handling the labour disputes before the labour arbitration and Chinese tribunals. |

Martin Leys (EDF), has been working with EDF for 25 years, mostly in Communication and HR fields. He joined Asia Pacific Direction in 2008 as Vice President and HR & Corporate Director (1000 staff in China, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand and Japan), accompanying the EDF strategy in Asia (building 3rd generation nuclear reactor, developing thermal, hydro and renewable power including the best Chinese available technologies, etc...) Previously, he was Executive Director of Communication Direction, then senior HR adviser for Francois Roussely, former President of EDF. During this working period, he was involved in EDF pension reform as well as preparation of Initial Public Offer of EDF. Recently, when EDF prepared the opening of French electricity market, he was HR & Change of management Director of EDF Commercial Branch (9000 staff) in France. Martin LEYS is graduated from Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris. As a first expatriation, he lives in Beijing with his wife & 3 kids. |
