Innovation is a ‘buzz’ word that carries a lot of misunderstandings and fallacies. Observing effective innovative companies, we identify realities about innovation, witness the emergence of significant trends, and propose some directions for executives who want to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their innovation efforts. Far from the image of creativity and serendipity, innovation is a complex process that requires discipline and methodology.
