South China - Guangzhou
The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, together with HEC Paris business school, is pleased to invite you to join the Strategic Innovation for Sustainability seminar, to be held on Thursday, November 5th 2015 in Canton and on Friday, November 6th 2015 in Shenzhen.
Business has entered a challenging and volatile new world full of uncertainties, where competitive advantages cannot be any longer protected over time. New players, leveraging on digital technologies are able to disrupt well-established traditional industries; scarcity of natural resources, demographic challenges and raising societal concerns jeopardize entire business ecosystems, making them struggling for survival. How can enterprises answer these unprecedented challenges? The new framework, which already dominates in a handful of the world's leading companies, is solution-oriented strategic innovation for sustainability.
Strategic innovation for sustainability can be defined as the capabilities developed by some organizations to permanently spot greenfield areas to create or improve value for their customers, develop and deliver an appropriate offer, reap the market and move to some other new opportunities in order to secure sustainable and socially responsible growth. Both in theory and in practice, there is much debate and confusion about what such improvements in performance entail, but there is now growing agreement that, as with conventional innovation, they are not restricted to technological change but also include change in processes, operating procedures and practices, business models, thinking and systems. Sustainability and innovation drive each other and together they increase competitiveness of the companies
The aim is twofold: to highlight and to encourage Sino-French study majors, and support connections between the business world and the education one.
Who should attend?
This networking event will benefit high-level executives and managers from both international and Chinese companies involved in strategic planning. Human resources professionals who’re interested in looking for executive education resources are also welcome.
