Conference - China and Africa: How to Build a Sustainable Development Partnership

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China, together with HEC Paris and Sciences Po would like to invite you to a conference regarding to building sustainable development partnership between China and Africa. 

With the new initiative of “The Belt the Road”, as well as the willingness of building more strategic partnership with African countries from the Chinese government, it becomes crucial to have a better understanding of the continent, not only its economic and political environment, but also culture, philosophy and the way of thinking.

Professor Patrick Sevaistre will walk you through the following areas which might be essential to build up a sustainable development partnership between China and Africa: 

  • Latest updates on developments in Sub-Saharan Africa; the changing modalities of doing business in Africa: the political, social and cultural contexts in which business operates in Africa, risks and opportunities
  • Key trends, growth trajectories, information on key growth sectors in Africa, key insights on market and business opportunities

  • Outlook at the interaction between the public and the private sector including the PPPs (Public Private Partnerships)

Advisor to French Foreign Trade, has 40 years of experience in private sector development and investment promotion in Africa. Having rich professional experience in Africa both at the enterprise and at the policy level he is the chairman of CIAN (French Council of Investors in Africa) and member of EBCAM (European Business Council Africa Mediterranean).
