The French Chamber in Beijing, along with the German Chamber and the Swiss Chamber, is delighted to invite you to a unique seminar about the latest environmental protection regulations – notably the new Environmental Protection Law that took effect early 2015. Through legislation and also initiatives like 京津冀 (Jing-Jin-Ji) the Chinese government shows that environmental protection has become an important concern.
Dr. Martin Seybold, Head of the Beijing Office at Roedl & Partner, will focus in his presentation on how these new regulations have affected the operations of companies. On the other side, Mr. Ran Cao, Managing Director at Bertrams Chemical Plants will share his experience regarding the policy change.
About the speakers
Dr. Martin Seybold - Partner (Rödl & Partner Beijing)
Dr. Seybold is German attorney-at-law and heads the Beijing Office of Rödl & Partner since the beginning of 2015. He focusses on Chinese business law, mainly in the fields of foreign direct investment, M&A transactions, commerce and marketing law, compliance and IP protection in China. Before joining Rödl & Partner in April 2013 to head the legal department of the Beijing office, Dr. Seybold built and led his own law firm in Beijing for more than 8 years. He meanwhile has over 12 years of practical experience in and with China, and during this time he has advised many foreign invested enterprises in China.
As an integrated professional services firm, Rödl & Partner is active at 106 wholly-owned locations in 49 countries. They owe their dynamic success in the service lines audit, legal, management and IT consulting, tax consulting as well as tax declaration and BPO to their approx. 4200 entrepreneurial minded partners and colleagues.
Mr. Cao Ran - Managing Director (Bertrams Chemical Plants China)
Mr. Cao graduated from Beijing University of Technology as Master of Mechanical Engineering. In 2014 He was awarded MBA degree by Vlerick Business School in Belgium. Mr. Cao has been working in China Chlor-alkali and related industry for more than 10 years. Upon hard and effective work, his company Bertrams Chemical Plants has achieved around 80% of market share in niche market. Recently along with the trend of environmental protection promoted by China government Bertrams is placing bigger effort for the marketing of acid recovery technology as a kind of green technology.
Bertrams Chemical Plants Ltd. is an internationally active enterprise, with liaison offices in India and registered offices in China and representatives in many other countries. Their headquarters are located in Muttenz, Switzerland. The field of activity ranges from the preparation of feasibility studies, basic engineering and overall planning up to the realization of turn-key installations.
