Privacy Policy

General Statement of Privacy
The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry
in China (CCIFC) respects the privacy of its members and of those who
visit this site. Any information submitted to the CCIFC is subject to
the provisions of applicable laws and will not be used in any manner to
which the user has not consented. While the CCIFC does analyze its web
site logs to monitor the flow of traffic and make improvements to the
site's content, these logs do not personally identify individuals and
no attempt is made to link them to individual visitors to this site.
Personally Identifiable Information
CCIFC does not collect personally identifiable
information about visitors to its website without their knowledge or permission.
Information collected through the membership registration form, email
newsletter registration and/or event registration forms includes name
(first and last), company name, company address, phone number, fax number,
and e-mail address. However, visitors should be aware that any information
disclosed on a bulletin board or other open forum hosted by the CCIFC
may be collected by others and used to send you unsolicited information
from outside the CCIFC for other purposes.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
Non-personally-identifiable information includes,
but is not limited to, information we automatically collect regarding
visitor use of and/or actions on our web site (e.g., user traffic patterns,
page views on the web site, click-through rates, search terms entered
into our search engine). In addition, when a visitor arrives at our site,
we record the IP address, operating system, and browser software used.
An IP address (which is not the same as an e-mail address) indicates the
user's Internet service provider, which in turn suggests the geographic
location of the connection. The CCIFC recognizes that certain demographic
information (e.g., race, age, gender, national origin, income), while
not Personally Identifiable Information, is still of a sensitive nature
to users. As a general rule, the CCIFC does not collect such information
through the ccifc.org web site. However, in the event that the CCIFC obtains
such information, either through your voluntary submission in response
to a special feature on the web site or by receiving this information
from any of our business partners, this information shall, when coupled
with any of your other Personally Identifiable Information, itself be
deemed Personally Identifiable and be treated by the CCIFC as such.
Use of Non-Personally Identifiable Information
As a general rule, Non-Personally Identifiable
Information helps us to determine how the ccifc.org web site is being
used, to identify popular areas of the web site, and to determine the
effectiveness of our promotional activities regarding the web site
Third Party Use of Personal Information
The CCIFC web site contains links to other internet
web sites, including co-branded or other affiliated sites. Unless stated
otherwise, we are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content
of such web sites, including such sites' use of any information.
Security
Users must understand and agree that "perfect"
security does not exist anywhere, including on the internet. Information
sent to this site, including email messages, will not be encrypted unless
explicitly stated.
Merchant Services
Users may be able to access certain
information via links, banner ads or click-throughs on the site regarding
the goods or services of third parties. Users must understand and agree
that access to or use of those services is a matter entirely between the
user and the associated third parties, and the CCIFC shall have no liability
whatsoever for any such access or use.
Notice to Parents or Guardians
CCIFC would like to help users protect their
childrens privacy. Thus, we encourage you to talk to your children
about safe and responsible use of their personal information while using
the internet.
Correcting, Updating or Deleting Information
The ccifc.org web site gives users the option,
through automated procedures available on the web site, to correct, update,
or delete any information previously provided to us by the user. However,
we will maintain copies of user information to the extent required by
our web site's standard backup/archive process. In addition, these procedures
will not remove user information that has been provided by you to, or
collected from you by, the Web sites of our business partners. We are
not responsible for ensuring the removal or deletion from the Web sites
of our business partners of your information provided by us to our business
partners as permitted by you or otherwise in accordance with this Privacy
Statement.
